SWOP USA and SWOP NORCAL DEC 17 Events

Dear Friends,

5th International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers is on DEC 17th

Join SWOP USA and SWOP NORCAL during the month of December and help bring attention to violence and discrimination experienced by sex workers.

Sex Workers Outreach Project believes that the criminalization of prostitution is a direct cause for violence and stigma perpetrated against sex workers. Predators have used criminalization as an excuse to murder prostitutes. The very fact that prostitutes are nothing but criminals and the ideal that they are easy prey because nobody cares makes them number one targets for violence. Decriminalization is one of the first steps to taking away the stigma related to prostitution. When we are no longer criminals, we will not fear arrest if we report violence against us. If our occupation is legal we will be able to organize and fight for labor rights enforced in our workplaces.

Please read the list of events below and email dec17@swopusa.org and let us know how you can volunteer. If you would like to help but can't attend an event please consider donating some hard earned bucks to help us end this war on prostitution. http://www.swopusa.org/drupal/node/52
